Hi, I am completely new to CB and although chatting for a half hour with a ham operator in his shed in Scarborough or Bridlington, have no knowledge or experience other than what I have researched this last week. I am living in a fairly hilly area of Ireland 6 miles south of the NI border. Wondered if anything was going on. Found this forum mentioned in a yt video. Bought a mini radio at Amazon and an antennae but no real success except picking up local church wedding services on FM and a fair bit of Italian chat. I have ordered a Thuderpole T800 and Orbiter antennae and Swr meter. I intend to eventually set up a cb base station if feasible here I would greatly appreciate a call sign, please.

Hi John,
Welcome to Charlie Tango.
Sounds like you're off to a good start with your CB interests which will hopefully get better as you go along. Remember that we're coming up to 'skip' season as the summer months roll on so here's hoping you get some interesting contacts. ('Skip' works just as well with AM/FM as it does SSB. )
Just a heads up to your call sign request, you'll need to enter your QTH as the town/city, (or even village), you live in or near for admin to issue you. Once you've entered those details admin responsible usually issues call signs on most days.

Hi, Just to let you know, in regards call sign allocation, that my nearest town is Enniskillen, although I am in Corlough, County Cavan, a village in Irish Republic near Ballinamore. I am English and originally from Newcastle upon Tyne and moved here in 2016. Regards, John.
