Subject: External speaker recommendations for CRT Electro? Fri May 20, 2022 12:48 am
Hi all,
I'm getting a 'popping/cracking' sound from the internal speaker in my Electro on RX, when it's only on about a quarter volume? The Electro is inexpensive and small, so I shouldn't really expect too much from its audio performance, but it does become wearing on the ears. As such, I've been looking for a small external speaker to plug into it for home and portable use....any ideas please?

Hi Simon
I use a Nokia speaker from an old in car mobile phone kit on my TYT TH-8900, it's small, compact, ideal for portal use and has a good sound quality to it.
I'm sure if you look around the car boot sales or radio rallies you could find 1 dirt cheap or even free.

Ha ha
My first external speaker for CB was made by my dad. He used a speaker from a car and fitted it into a home made metal box (easy done as he was a sheet metal worker)
