| vie put a wire up at moms now no one can see it. my question to the the is simple i would like to know which radio you all believe is better for me, a Icom 706 or a kenwood 840 the 840 is easier to wide band but a bit big to go mobile with i have used both radios in past and love them both buy can only afford one please help. 73s teapot | |

| I know absolutely nothing about either rigs but a quick google of them confirms a bracket is available for the yaesu as wireless posted. But the yaesu looks huge compared to the icom. Also the icom looks to have a removable face for mobile use. Space was an issue with me mobile and why I chose the smaller CRT 9900 over a 6900. Otherwise I would of gone for the 6900. I much prefer the look and simplicity of them and they're cheaper   Anyway thats maybe something for you to consider and good luck with whatever you choose  | |

| they are cheaper but don't have variable power on SSB so unless i go into them and turn the i cant run a set of boots(burner) the two radio ive mention run 100 watts straight out the back of the. | |

I wasn't suggesting the CRT radios to you. I was wondering, as you mentioned mobile. If you had the space for the larger radio.  | |
