Hi has anyone had any experience of the sirio starduster m400 just been looking at one and it looks fairly solid if thoughts are positive i might get one, thanks-i have since my last post looked at the height of one and they are over sixteen feet plus a pole so it looks like im going back to just a silver rod that i can hide in a tree  Rolling Eyes

They might be 16ft long but they mount in the middle so only 8ft above the pole. They are basically a dipole so no real gain but they have a good bandwidth. They look the same as my old Skylab aerial I had in the 80's. There's nothing wrong with them but they're not outstanding. Your silver rod may perform better but being hidden in a tree won't help it, and I bet it's longer than 16ft too.

Had a skylab back in the day and although very light it withstood winds very well.
Really liked it and wouldn't hesitate to use another

I used to have my Skylab on top of a tower block 200 feet up in 82/83, right in the middle of Leicester. People could hear me 100 miles away apparently, unfortunately I had S9 of noise so couldn't hear much more than 30 miles away. Still, can't have everything I suppose. Good wind resistance though for sure, but I did have to turn it round 180 degrees every 6 months or so, the prevaling wind would bend it over time. Olden days eh? We had some fun back then.
