older cb's used to have mid band but the newer ones don't seem to why is that is it because it is covered by low and high band anyway

Hello ... i guess you know with the new ones some of them they do have, but are hidden due to countries restrictions

It's an old thing "mid band" i used to fit it as a mod to straight 40 27/81 radios years ago when it started on FM. As you say new radios cover it now so they don't use the label "mid band" any more as such.

Midband is same as EU 40 now.
