| Hi there,
I use CB , mostly mobile (am/fm/ssb) but now checking out 446 with a cheap UV5 tri power radio programmed to the 16 channels for UK. use.
Can anyone recommend an antenna for mobile use ? Mag mount or other ? It's for a car, not a truck.
Thanks for any advice. | |

| Hi TwinCam You could make a 1/4 wave antenna out of a metal coat hanger, or a bicycle spoke and an old mag mount like this 1 I prepared earlier. or buy a 2m/70cm antenna and mag mount. Most will cover 446 and if you decide to get your amateur licence you already have a antenna for the UHF/VHF bands. Now as for what type/brand of 2/70 antenna to buy, I will leave that answer to those who have bought, tested and use them 73 Ray 2290 | |
