Hi All,

If you're thinking about taking your Amateur Radio licence (and why wouldn't you with all those lovely frequencies at your disposal with hopefully from February 2024 utilising 25 Watts with supervisory privileges! Amateur Radio Foundation courses 2024 1f44d ) then worth knowing about courses you can go on.

I took the highly successful Essex Ham Foundation online course a few years back for free (as have many other members here) and can thoroughly recommend them :-

https://www.essexham.co.uk/train/foundation-online/

They have the dates for courses starting on the right of the web page.

There are other course available and many clubs run them locally but do check prices as some clubs require full membership as well as course fees. (Which can soon add up!)

Examinations are also available to take online with details being found on the RSGB website :-

https://rsgb.org/main/rsgb-examination-booking/

If you know of any other Foundation courses available then why not pop up some details here.

All the best,
Victor

I can also recommend the Essex Ham online course as well.
Do it in your own time and any questions just ask on here or Pete that runs the course.
I am getting on a bit plus dyslexic and had no confidence in myself but our Victor gave me a push or 2 or 3 lol and i passed first go.

I’m another member who would highly recommend the Essex Ham Foundation online course.
I enrolled and then went on to pass the course without any prior radio knowledge other than the odd dabble using PMR 446 radios.
