How do all.
Would anyone know where I might get some replacement knobs for my NATO 2000?
I dug it out of the loft after not seeing the light of day for the best part of 35 years & it needs a cosmetic upgrade, case paint / vinyl wrap and the knobs are a bit scruffy.
I was going to rub them down and paint them, the channel knob needs some filler in it too.
On a Ham International Facebook page I saw a post with a brand new set that had been sold but they were the sellers last ones unfortunately for me.
So I thought I’d ask on here to see if anyone could help?
Many thanks
mic

Hi Mic,
Nice find, I wish I had an old NATO 2000 in the loft.
I have no idea nowadays where you'd find original or OEM style knobs and suppose it must be difficult after so many decades since they were produced. There's bound to be someone with an 'original' set with an appropriate 'collectors' price somewhere if you scour the old 'tinternet for long enough.
I've seen some nice 'customised' CB radios over the years ranging from bunging on what parts were available all the way to tart's handbags with multi-coloured LED's and paint jobs. I've also seen some terrible 'restorations' too.
Up to you really, that or chuck it on the bay with a 'collectors' price for someone else to 'restore'.
I wish you well with it and again, nice find.
All the best, Victor

Hi Victor
I think I’ve sourced a set, not brand new but in good condition and yes you’re right, they come at a cost but I don’t mind.
The ones on the radio aren’t as bad as I originally thought but gonna swap them anyway and have some spares.
Sent the radio off to The Shack today to have it recapped, make sure it’s on frequency and bulbs changing.
Case is very scruffy though so trying to decide whether to paint it or vinyl wrap it.
Regards

Nice one Mic, you'll have to let us all know how you get on with it.
(A picture or too wouldn't go amiss either....there's nothing like a good bit of radio 'porn'! )
Good luck with it all and the ultimate would be firing her back up on air again.
