Hi I’d like to request a call sign, I haven’t had one before as I’m new to cb radio but as I meet more people with callsigns it encourages me more to get one for myself I live in the uk and operate on a Communicator NI-440DX
Thanks so much, Ethan.

Well spotted there Tony and very eagle-eyed.
This does indeed look like an old thread from amongst several when the forum first moved over to this platform.
For some strange reason it was dragged back to the fore and probably due to being 'tagged' by random call sign requests despite our best efforts in providing instructions for new members on how to gain a callsign. Between the many requests received from the world over, best efforts at extracting basic information such as a first name or QTH and even attempts at communicating with unknown languages oversights such as this are bound to happen.
I've only been allocating call signs for less than a year now and already appreciate the hard work that can land up being involved. I certainly tip my hat to our Gary Wilson who has been dealing with them for so many years now.
Thanks again Tony. I've given you a vote of 'thanks' for the community mindedness. (Despite your raspberry. )
All the best, Victor

Not so much eagle-eyed Victor, I think it's more a case of my brain being trained by running a very busy forum for 10+ years and looking for things out of the ordinary.
I am amazed at how many people don't read the 'Red' instructions for call sign application, maybe most are used to FaceAche etc. and forums confuse brains. (Not difficult in my case).
I applaud you two guys for dealing with the day to day running of CTDX and sorting out the many issues.
Thanks to all the Admin team for this great asset for us to enjoy.
Cheers & beers, Tony
ps. I gave up running my forum a few years ago, so please don't ask.

No worries there Tony and well done to you for running a forum for so long.
I've only been here at CT for a few years now (late 2019 judging by my profile) but have loved every minute and extended my own radio interests immensely because of and through it. All of this thanks to wonderful people like your good self (as well as many others) and is honestly a joy to be here. To be further invited to join the admin team was an absolute honour and the guys that keep this altogether are an awesome bunch of lads.
Really do appreciate you pointing out the strange date as it had me befuddled for a moment, especially with the number of views on the posting and glad we got to the bottom of it. (Looks like more forum housekeeping will be required at some time.....Ugghh, dustpan & brush time. )
It's also really good to see and hear that our efforts are appreciated as well, often it's disheartening to see new members grab a call sign then disappear forever never knowing if they actually got on air.
However, I've always said this and will say it again that Charlie Tango would be nothing if it wasn't for all of the wonderful members that reside here. Radio enthusiasts helping fellow enthusiasts no matter where their field of interest lays in. Awesome stuff!
It also shows (hence why leaving this request up and my response) that we all indeed human with typical mistakes happening and not some A.I. affair that doesn't or couldn't actually care less.
Cheers again Tony, much appreciated and always a pleasure to see you on the forum. (Would love to catch you on air some time. )
All the best, Victor

Victor, I wish my words would travel from brain to fingers as well as yours but age has taken it's toll.
I remember the dustpan and brush times you refer to, oh what a PITA. With my forum I had it configured so that when someone first joined the only place they could post was the Introduction board with a new post only and not a reply, all other boards were 'read only' until that Intro was made.
I would love to contact you on air sometime, at present with my setup it would probably have to be on ft4/8 as the only phone I generally do is via a local repeater.
Keep up the good work 73 Tony
