Subject: Dual watch on SS 6900N V6 Thu May 06, 2021 7:31 pm
Anyone had this problem and managed a work around it?
Trying to DW on 26.285 and 27.555 Only it won't As 26.285 is on my band b, 27.555 on my band e
However, two frequencies on the same band say band b, no problem, and it nicely toggles between the two.
Has anyone solved this issue? OR is it just a case of adding the two frequencies on (say) bank b Channels 41 and 42.
Thanks, Paul.

I would say add the frequency's to the same band. Can't you put 60 in each band ???. Add a fre close to each for a qsy.

It will only DW on two frequencies on the same band.
Paul.

Yes I can only that would muck up the channel numbers. Call me lazy if you like but the CEPT and minus/plus bands I know. To pile them onto one 'block' and now I've got to figure out 40 plus the next twenty. Way too complicated for my old brain cell.
It would give me a 360 frequency library but, in the main, I use a half dozen 'listening out' frequencies across the whole of the CEPT bands, and only the two free band recognized call frequencies I want to watch while working at my desk. Those being 555 and 285.
I suppose I bought the 6900 with my scanner in mind where it will dual watch any two on any band.
Thanks for your comments Alan 73's Paul

Yep, thank you and got that Paul. My fault as it should have been a question I missed out of the chat with others using the same radio.
Still, and as said to Alan, my scanner has 'spoiled' me when it comes to running a DW in the background.
I have also come across the same in commerical and, on discussion with one of the 'less well known' makes, they gave me a work round where an issue on a closed net was hampering their intended use.
That included revised eproms for the magnificent price of 'FREE'. Nice guys FIRM CALLED Range-T (from memory) Chinese firm specializing in secure comms back in the 80's. All 8 radios running on dual watch, private chat, and over two bands.
Something I still think applies. You want innovation and service, think Chinese. You want rugged without frills, think Russian.

What i meant was to put the frequency's you watch and 3 or 4 more on the end of one bank. Say channel 50 to 60 in bank A for when you just want to listen out if there is a bit of a lift on.
