Ohh, a 15m Contact thread to compliment the 10m one It's the next band I have been listening to when 10 & 11 are just hisss.
Well done Craig on those contacts. Some good distance there.
Nothing today for me, and probably won't be till the weekend. But had a few on the weekend just gone from the same mid skip areas around Europe I manage on 10m, but also..

Victor, have you heard EA5/G4VZV/P on 17m? One to listen out for. He may be on other bands too. Worth looking him up to see what his operating kit consists of, it's quite interesting.

Cheers Neal and Victor two really nice bands 15 and 17m much less hectic than say 20m
Funny you should mention EA8/G4JXP/P because I did work him the other day on 15m while he was SOTA EA8/LA-008 Montana Blanca , great to see some SOTA activity on 15

Great work Craig, I’ve got to be honest I don’t think I’ve ever used them! Will give it a try. I tend to stick between 40 and 20m sometimes 10m.

I think I know the guy Neal, he's the one that runs a portable setup with the trolley at the sea front? I'm always amazed at the setups operators put together and how well they do.
Noticed some good 'Greyline' activity on 15m recently with Japan popping in currently on our sunrise, (their sunset), and lasting through to eek out far east China then Korea. A lot of digital but also voice too.

Yep that's the chap Victor.
Haven't anything from the far east on 15m yet. Don't normally get the chance during the week to check the radio out at sunrise. Have just put on briefly before leaving for work, but nothing so exotic heard, all Russian on the band. SSB only that is though, not working any data modes currently.
I read conditions are supposed to get good in the coming days. I look forward to hopefully making a few good contacts again soon in the evenings.

There's been some fantastic signals on 15m and 17m too recently - all exciting stuff!
Victor, 15m and 17m are both excellent bands, thats saying something from a 10m till i die operator. When i lived in Berlin in the late eighties i made thousands of qso's on both bands, running a IC725 and indoor dipoles, the military DA2 callsign i had there drew pileups especially with the US stations !
Happy days........

Another quick shortish skip one on lunch break 29/10/21
UR3CTB - Ukraine
Loads of strong US stations coming through right now, but my time's ran out.
At least you have been on the radio, the dog and myself are waiting for the woman who burns the food in our house to finish shopping in the local intermarche... Note to self - install rig in car!

Strange conditions into here in past hour. Stations popping up strong from all over the world and then dropping out again. From south east of Europe and Russia (as above) to north including Finland and Norway, and also all the way west to the US and east or west (who knows) to Australia. Tried VK1XX a few times before he just disappeared like the rest.
Hope some of you manage a few good ones today. Mostly listening now.. Saturday chore time

US was starting to come in, but QSB were taking their signals below the noise levels at times so didn't try for. More than happy to have gotten just the one above, one more than have been managing during weekdays day times recently.
