Today has got to be the best propagation we’ve had all year.Started with the usual 116 Divisions at breakfast and then the T5 and highs were alive with European stations. Then a quick flick to AM and that’s when the fun began,Not stop skip for over 4 hours.106 Bermuda,502 Florida,888 Detroit,555 Mississippi,21 Pittsburgh,138 Tennessee and loads more that I forgot to write the state down. Then a few QSO’s on 27.385 LSB mostly Canada. The propagation was that strong that it completely wiped out the Sunday net I listen too on USB and you could even hear the other 26,108 and 163 Divisions calling stateside,Just fantastic. Sadly the sun farted and we now have a Geomagnetic storm field which means unsettled conditions and a high S noise,So that puts the breaks great DX’ing for a while. But we’re all still listen after work tomorrow just incase..lol Has anyone got a throat lozenge… Cheers Tom. 26 CT 4029

I daily spend hours checking various HF propagation beacons and dedicated websites to solar conditions only to find out that HF band conditions are simply based on whether or not the sun has decided to fart or not !!!!!!
'Sadly the sun farted and we now have a Geomagnetic storm field' - Tom
Thanks Tom, your Solar Fart Index has saved me hours of time on the internet
P.S - hope you found those throat lozengers !!

Good to hear the daytime conditions are still good Tom! I'm stuck at work with no radio today. Typical.

Well done Mark.
Just noticed 10m opening as far as Turkey and thought that action would expand to 11m.
(Still waiting on a "slow-boat-from-China" spares for my rig but having fun listening. )
Best of luck to anyone transmitting today.

Victor,
heres hoping your spare parts turn up sooner rather than later, in the mean time, not sure if you use these websites, i keep an eye on them constantly...
https://www.dxmaps.com/spots/mapg.php
If you use this site often i recommend sending a couple of quid to help keep it going, i do its worth its weight in gold.
Another good site to see band conditions is here..
https://dxheat.com/dxc/
If you look on the right hand side you can see what the sun is doing (ie. Toms Solar Fart Index) and you can also see which bands are open to what part of the world, Europe Asia etc
Have a good weekend, regards to all in CT land
Ady

Whoops meant to mention, on the DXHeat site, if you click on a callsign, you see a window pop-up with three icons, this enables you to listen directly to the station via a WEBSDR (you can choose which one of the two available) you can see the statistics for the particular station or just simply look them up on Qrz.Com that is assuming they are on qrz.com which personally i am not, except for my German callsign...

Cheers Ady,
I have come across DXMaps before and it does look like a perfect site for such things. I still like to tune and wander around the bands sometimes though and just be taken by surprise to an opening. Great stuff there mate.
All the very best to you all Lads and have a fantastic weekend, Victor

Listening on a UK based KiwiSdr there is plenty of nice DX on T5.......
http://kiwi.farnham-sdr.com:8073/
I imagine it would be a good way to check your signal/setup if you are located near the SW of the UK !!
Have a good weekend CT friends

I was rolling the china VFO and cought WR313 Carmen Island Mexico, Ramundo 27. 495 USB testing out some audio adjustments. The Xiegu G90 is in line with no amp. 20watts. Called out and had a good QSO for a bit. Was up and down. The internet tells me something like 1,000Mi (1609 ish Km) between us. Heard a hand full of Mexico this afternoon, but don't speak much spanish. ;-) Now listening to 40m band. A bit noisey but somewhat busy. 2CT351 Jeremy

World Radio Club is doing "check in" on 27.395LSB. The Check-in Station is on the east coast (div2) just in case conditions get going. Radio is on here for the mean time. Some of my best contacts was when 2 stations are on the same frequency, but nobody calls out!! lol I give a shout every now and then just in case. See if Mother Nature plays nice today. 2CT351 N. Sadly been very busy lately so radio time has been very limited to say the least. But still managed a morning QSO to 116 and 50 divisions and as I got home this evening a quick 2 division South Carolina and 23 division Jamaica on .385 LSB that sadly fizzled out half way through the QSO. Can’t complain as DX is more then welcome,Especially with the time restraints and lousy weather..lol Lets hope the weekend is better as I’ll be after a couple of QSL cards from Activations in 3 and 161 divisions. Have a great week everyone. Tom 26 CT 4029
