Just home as the 27.385 faded into the Background noise..lol This afternoon. was a great success trying the new mobile set up,It’s only temporary until the better radio gets installed and the Homebase one gets replaced. So for now it’s Am/Fm,Low,Mids and the ukfm. Found the highest bit of ground what also luckily backed onto a garden centre overlooking fields.I’ll keep this one a secret for now because it’s a new great DX spot.I’ll just say Kent. Antenna is a 9 foot 2 piece tank whip and I added a zetagi matcher because it’s quite wide banded at 26-28 MHz.The SWR is now 1:1 right through,Not sure how much loss you get with the matcher in-line but I managed to work 50 Div on Am and 13 Div on Mids Fm and rig checks from east London at 10DB.Seens better then my Homebase and no QRM,I forgot what it was like to not have S7 of noise on channel 13-14.. I did have a modulator type antenna to also try but I thought if it’s not broke then don’t try to fix it,It stayed in the van..lol I wonder if I could work 2 Div mobile tomorrow.. Cheers Tom. 26 CT 4029

Tom, the loss is negligable in a matcher......glad you found a nice spot, i have the same problem here only on 27mhz, sounds like CPL noise, ONLY on the 11m band, in the process of ordering a Phaser to get rid of the damn thing (its not coming from my house as i do not have any CPL rubbish) some cheapish kits or ready built on e-bay starting at about 20 Euros (minus case) going to buy one just to make like easier on 11m.
The best on the market to reduce noise is from DxEngineering but is cheaper to move house !!!

I know Ady is a pain mate and it’s definitely not from here or next door so god knows what’s causing it.Maybe a near Wifi or even the Lamp post across the road from us.Now I’ve just learned to live with it.I’ll check out those links for the QRM eliminator. Cheers Tom. 26 CT 4029

Tom i have a JPS ANC-4 Antenna Noise Canceller works a treat, very hard to find like gold hens teeth i was lucky
to find one old new stock. I manage to sort my noise problem out now, i was going to sell it but decided not to just in case as it was hard to source. I can vouch for the ANC-4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUwryhnhgy8

I didn't manage to get back to any either. Either my setup isn't good enough or the big diode in the sky was doing it's thing again.

2 Division skip into London yesterday was amazing,Both on LSB and FM.Just worked AM as this seems better when it’s going crazy and I can get heard a lot easier. This is also on random AM channels and not just 6 The SuperBowl. 2020 Michigan,3792 Michigan,139 Indiana,3991 Indiana,35 Tennessee,804 North Carolina (I’ve seen this YouTube channel) and 502 Florida. Many more were heard but not worked and this was all on the AM mode.yesterday I was told on good Authority that 43 Division Australian was worked on UKFM crazy isn’t it and I bet that channel on FM will be busier this morning.lol As I sit here now 116 Div Turkey is booming In on Mids FM 27.215 as it is most mornings.Let’s hope this is a sign of things to come today,The charts certainly look promising. Good luck everyone Tom. 26 CT 4029

Fantastic Kilomike,If looks like the bands are finally opening. On the 11m high band,Loads of 1 and 14 Divisions it’s actually quite hard to listen to 1 station as it’s piling up. Great DX’ing everyone Tom. 26 CT 4029

Yep, the half American side of me can exclaim a gun related saying.. it's been like shooting fish in a barrel for the past hour! Great conditions between us and north America. I'm mostly just listening now though as doing my Sunday kitchen duties
Hope everyone's been able to make the most of it and what's left of it today.

Just finished a great couple of hours working into States and Canada....highlights were 10 min chat with 2wr 595 Neil in New York and unit 99 Keith Ontario Canada.
Many shout backs on .385lsb and Superbowl.
Best Autumn dx over the pond in many years...
Flicking between beam and Vector 4000 made 2 s point difference on Tx to New York, great to have the time to make a comparison test.

Nice one Sam well done you always do well with the state sides .365 LSB was very busy today, the states were complaining about too many European stations calling. I Managed contacts on 10m with the contest on 10m today with the States a quick in than out qso. I was messing about with the Imax 2000 I think I messed up somewhere as the SWR is too high now, i used it in the same place when it was ground-mounted and the SWR was 1.1 there on the ground Will need to heat the thing and strip it back in the summer. Might go for a Vector 4000, do you know how big the basket diameter is as its going on the side of the house so will need to clear the guttering etc, will mount below the gutters etc. Did look at the spec sheet but no info given cheers.

Hi Tony,
As mine is mounted to the side of my workshop above roof level I've never worried about the basket diameter but from memory it's approx 60cm.
