Subject: Tuning Question, well, three actually Wed Feb 02, 2022 5:45 pm
Just bought a Lincoln II.
I can't fully tune it, trying to progam the CB frequencies into the memory such as a local net on 40 - 27.99125 my tuner doesn't go to 5 decimal places so the closest I can get is 27.9912, and every CB channel ends in a 0.00005 so I can't accurately program a single one, that's still going to work yes? I know the proof is in the pudding but I'm not setting up the antenna for a week and it's worrying me lol
Second, the +10khz button doesn't seem to do anything, and the presdient handbook, like other Presidents I've bought, isn't that helpful, it just says it turns on+10khz or turns it off again? But you tune on the dial by selecting each digit so that doesn't change, the memory presets don't change, the preset bands/channels don't change, so what does it do??
Lastly, I know HAM radio doesn't technically have calling frequencies, but we all know they exist, so does anybody know the best frequency ranges/specific frequencies for 10M? From Googling I'm looking at 29.6 for FM, 29 to 29.1 for AM, but what about SSB? It's looking like 28,300 to 28,600 as a range with 28,400 looking like the most likely single frequency, but that's from USA sources not UK, do people generally agree with that?

28.4MHz is where I expect to hear USB calling. A little either way because we can

You have nothing to be worried about with the slight difference in the frequency on the uk fm. If it is a big concern then i think you bought the wrong radio sorry to say.
