Heard him call MW6RDX a couple of minutes before me. You sorted your audio out Alan?

No John, seems to sound fine to locals, he was +40 to me, thought it would have been an easy contact lol. Never heard any more after him apart from a couple of py stations very weak. At least we've started

Ok, hopefully it was his end in that case. Yes, good to get going, I don’t think I was off the mark on day one last year. Before the EA8 I heard a few weak S Americans. I’ll pop back upstairs to check the band again after the World Cup draw, but not too hopeful, 10 seems in poor shape today

Well done John. I followed in your footsteps this evening to Western Sahara
I know I missed out on some good stuff today, but I got fed up earlier in the day not getting through to anyone as most operators were just going back to those affixing /QRP to their callsigns Indonesia, Israel and Georgia were romping in as I turned the radio off, Georgia telling everyone to hold on whilst another QRP station called in I went to AV8 for coffee and watched planes and 'copters fly about, thankful that this challenge isn't a one day affair

You’re doing well with the 10 watts, are you using a beam? I don’t tend to use the radio so much at weekends, I’ll leave it for the big boys unless there’s a contest for racking up some points for this Summer Challenge! Hopefully the DX conditions will improve a bit more before we’re swamped with Europeans for the Es summer season! 73

Thank you John. If you knew the ratio of stations I call for to those I actually manage to make contact with, you'd probably think otherwise. E.g. I've been calling many Brazil stations for the last two days, but only just made it to one of them just now. No beam, my station is really a KISS one, simple like me Indoor fan dipole mostly. Pic of the feeder HERE on my QRZ.. don't laugh
Until evening Es start to happen, weekends are mostly all I have.

very good Neal. I’ve just had a look at your QRZ page, a interesting arrangement in your loft, amazing how well it is working! I definitely need you WAB square on 10, but Cirencester is probably out of the question from Barnstaple. The shortest trips I’ve made is to Birmingham & Kent with very short E/ Tropo running. Neither of us have a beam so backscatter is also highly unlikely, but I’ll keep listening in hope! best 73 de G0DNV

I think my rig must be deaf, I'm only hearing back of the box voices on 10 at the moment. Not had a lot of time for it lately. I did bag VE9FI on 20 meters last night though. Definitely need to pull my finger out on 10.
73's Gary.
