can anyone one please tell me why my radio tells me my swr is high when the engine is running i have a SWR 1.1 on AM, FM and SSB but when i start the engine it wont let me use SSB but will AM and FM my radio is a 6900. thanks Dave 73s

Personally i would use an external swr meter as i don't trust the built in ones. With the engine running you will get a higher voltage that could upset the built in swr meter. You might even find the one in the radio is telling porkies.

I get High DC warning flash up on my 6900n while the engine is running.So I just use it with the engine off while static mobile and every 60 minutes or so I switch it off and run the engine for a while.No AA on the T5..lol Cheers Tom. 26CT429

Thank you for your comment what I have done i just turn of the function so I can use it with the engine running because I know my SWR is very low.

It's the "tSr" setting on the function menu setup Tom.

Your solution of turning the SWR protect function off when you know the SWR is good is a great idea.

Anybody. Make sure your SWR is good and if you can check it with an external meter. Just me better safe than sorry with blown output's.
