Hi mate, Firstly that looks like the same version of the CRT 9900 (which I use ) or an Anytone 6666 etc. First tip would be to change your profile of equipment used from a president McKinley lol . Secondly, when you get set up, check your SWR, it should have it built in. I leave it set on. Also it has a safety feature that prevents from transmitting if the SWR rises. I leave that on. I would also recommend a standalone swr meter for a second opinion. Some say the built in meters aren't accurate but neither are some modern standalone meters. So its worth 2 opinions imo. And they're cheap enough.
Your radio may already be programmed. I bought mine from Knights fully programmed . If it isn't you will get good advice on here. If it is, just be careful of changing frequency settings as it saves what you dial in. I found this out after changing around 8 channels
There's a handy list of frequencies on a blog from a breaker called dellboy. I retuned mine from them.
It does look confusing, especially if your returning after many years from a straight 40 fm like me but a bit of reading and it becomes pretty clear

Thank you Sharpshooter, i think I'm about to enter a steep learning curve! I know nothing about this rig!! Any suggestions on an aerial? No experience with this, as had a silver rod 20+ years ago!! I have a separate swr meter and patch lead.

Antennas are a can of worms lol. I came back asking if CB antennas would cover PMR lol. I have a Sirio gainmaster that I need to Install for homebase, and 2 x sirio dv27's and 2 x thunderpole dv27's I'm going to mess about with as dipoles. Antron 99's are supposedly good. I've read silver rods are poor quality these days. If you fancy making your own antenna look out for Victor on here .
You'll get good advice on here. There's some really knowledgeable members.
Anyway, I really struggle to post for some reason. I keep getting kicked out of post mode, which is really annoying and I'm ready to chuck It in.
So good luck and enjoy your radio

Hi Tony,
Nice radio mate and you were so lucky to be gifted it. (Someone's bound to spout some 'Chinese-junk' nonsense though. )
It should have come with a programming lead but easily replaceable if it's missing and the lead for the Anyone AT-6666 is apparently the same.
The programming software is available for download at PJ Box and I'll give you the link below :-
https://www.pjbox.co.uk/pages/downloads
Just scroll down to the Dynascan 10m66 entry and click on the download link.
Hopefully you won't need to do anything and should be able to fire it up straight from the box as it's an 'export' model so should come with all the frequencies programmed already.
Any of the newer CB radios are going to appear a lot more complicated than rigs of old especially if you haven't had a sidebander before, but stick with it and you'll be suitably rewarded. Have a good read through the manual, (available online too if that's also mislaid), and operate the radio to gain familiarity.
A prime example of help available from the forum has already been shown by Nige - Sharpshooter and there are a lot of helpful members here. Just remember that we're not all here 24/7 so you may need to wait on replies to queries but there's so much info available of the web it's worth doing some of your own homework. Plus a lot of questions have been asked many times on the forum already so may be also worth perusing old postings.
Sorry to hear you've both been having problems accessing the site. I know that I struggle if I try on my old iPhone and even this 'ancient' (three years old!!) tablet I'm on struggles a bit but a lot of that is down to the forum host providers. Much as anything else they move with the times and leave some of us behind with obsolescence. (I don't have issues with my new laptop though and just as well as I'd never get any admin tasks done otherwise!)
So above all enjoy the whole experience Tony, it's often all worth it and part of the fun that can be had with the radio hobby. (Even if sometimes frustrating.)
All the best, Victor

Yes, that's what I have trouble with too. It seems to be the pop up advert at the bottom of the screen. And only on mobile version. on odd occasions like now, it isn't doing it. I've pressed the menu button top right and selected web version, which is fine but it's hard to navigate the site on that setting with a mobile.
It's very frustrating, at times you only type one or two letters. Pops out, and you inadvertently press some other link etc.
On occasions I've wrote a response that's took me ages because of it, only to press something and lose the lot grrrrrr.

Lol, yes you can normally change between mobile and web version on most sites. Fleabay actually shows up more items on web version Anyway, never mind that, was you on air for the 41 year CB net ?
