I have the CRT Micron and it was been a cracking little set for the price, I unlocked it after finding the method online after, quickly checking I see software for your own radio should you want to change the programming at any point and there is mention of unlocking a power feature on the set too.

There is more action on PMR in my area than on 2m and I am yet to hear a local on 70cm's, I take a little handy out with me most of the time a baofeng UV82 with the antenna upgraded to a Nagoya 771. More and more people seem to be getting onto the PMR channels with Nets popping up quite frequently and I have heard local businesses and a school use them too. I would be interested to hear how you get along with the Syrio 440 antennas, I use a co-linear for my base antenna for PMR which is meant for 2M and 70CM but it covers this well too but I need to upgrade my pals antenna and get it up a little higher too. Yes, Big Massey I am just outside of Falkirk and I know there are others from North of the border too.

if you use a antenna thats just for pmr 446 it will be better then a tri bander or 2m and 70cm, my home base is a antenna just for 446 from Slovakia and the same on the car and got the measurements from tm1 and its just 16cm 6/14 inches and it workes great and both my young bros have the home made for the car and one bro has the cx440 and it works well

I have just purchased a CRT Space-U from Knights together with the programming kit and I think that it is an amazing radio, very compact and extremely well made with a superb RX/TX performance. If I had to guess I think that the unit OEM is Anytone, specially branded for CRT France and this would explain the very high build standard and super performance. I get fantastic results when using it mobile with my home-brew 1/4 wave magmount but I really want to use it afloat on a narrowboat canal holiday which should make for an interesting net (marine mobile!) Has anyone else used PMR446 on the canals (we do every canal holiday as it is perfect for the job)

Just got my hands on a CTR-Space U. Small or what. A m8 bought it from nights programmed but never used it so he asked me to sell it for him. All new in the box well it's out of the box now lol. Had a chat on 70cm's with another m8 and he said it sounds very good then he video called me to see it and couldn't believe such a small radio could sound so good. It's a bit fiddly for my fingers and i will have to get the book out to see how to see what is programmed in it. It has a home base antenna with it never been fitted lol.

That's a shame Alan. If you were east coast of the island you might get across the sea. Nice little radio's though.
