Only ever get silence on 70cm same on 2m. Might have a listen more often.

Great seeing a UHF contacts posting Mike. Â
Shame I haven't got any 70cm SSB gear!

Most of the time it is quite. I always keep an eye on it whenever there is high pressure and keep an eye on the dxcluster.
I look for the Dutch beacon PI7CIS on 432.416, if it's up it's a clue, normally I just hear it with QSB.

There's been some great DX conditions tonight for 2m and 70cm. Well done Mike for making the most of them! Going by prediction maps, conditions should continue into the night. Hope others catch some action. Excited as I am by what I've received, I'm exhausted and going to bed. Have fun!

I had one contact last night using SSB that blew me away. Definitely nothing special for any of you 70cm or PMR DXers, but for me with what I was using I was very surprised and extremely happy. Using my homemade 2m j-pole in the loft firing a mostly E/W direction I managed a decent contact with F1BHL/P (just into France) who was directly south of me right in the antenna null. I only called him a bit of joke and he came straight back to me.
Arrow showing the antenna firing directions and the few contacts last night..

Well done, it's not an easy band at the best of times.

Bit of tropo FT8 4th September.
IC9700 75 watts to 21 element Dual ant. IN79 is a tough one from here as there is 600feet of chalk in the way.

Well done Mike. I have G7RAU in the log from February this year on 70cm. Have a similar height lump of granite at Dartmoor in the way. That was with 10 watts into a horizontal 2m wire j-pole in my loft so conditions were definitely with me that day. You got the edge on distance though, it's about 184 miles for me, I estimate another 30 more for you?

Bit of 70cms activity, all FT8. Signals Halloween night were very sporadic coming and going very quickly.

Both tropo on V/UHF and great conditions on upper HF that last few days, mother nature is really spoiling us. Great 70cm contacts there Mike! I didn't catch anything on that band, but had some good distance on 2m.
