| It's probably not worth it for a few extra Watts, I would firstly make sure your antenna system is the best it can be then secondly use a small linear if you need a bit more power.

| Not worth it. Just buy a 25-30W amp, that'll give you a worthwhile increase in S points and it'll not risk damaging the radio. Just because the finals are rated at a certain wattage higher than its set to in the factory doesn't mean that the rest of the components and more importantly, the cooling ability of the rig design is able to work with the higher output for any length of time. | |

| The radio already gets very hot so increasing the power is madness. Just whack a 25/35w linear in line instead | |

| Just seen this thread, although you've already replaced it - the Albrecht can only be tweaked to 6w then it starts to wind itself down to 1w again. Good choice changing it | |

| Really wouldn't want to do it in a chassis the size of the AE6110, it already gets warm at 4W. | |
