I was mobile yesterday, had a chance to listen to 27.555, very good skip from most of the European area, had a Wilson mag and Lincoln +2, made it to SWEDEN , DENMARK, from South Finland.
I thought I could hear faint chatter on 555 from my end in Australia but wasn't sure if someone was just bleeding through, I really need a beam and some headphones

Having a Beam is the way to go you can really hear stations with a good 8 points up compared to a vertical, my 3 element works on 10/11m perfectly. I worked Brazil short-path with a 5/9 +20db report with 100watts on 11m. Without offending anyone working Europe is to easy and not a challenge prefer to work outside the EU if i can.

The bands on 10/11m have dropped off here now and its cold in the shed shack so shutting down. I set my self a challenge to use 12w only from my WKS 1001 and managed a few EU stations using a hyendfed wire on a roach pole just goes to show you don't need a lot to do DX. I noticed a few Sugar Delta contest ops on 11m from 1div hope everyone bagged some good contacts.

They don't call it "chicken band" for nothing.
I was hoping after a 20 year break from 27mhz all the idiots would've disappeared and moved on to trolling social media. I was surprised that it was as bad as ever.

Here in Finland for the past 21 years, never had a bad station on local bands for CB, but scanning Ham bands, they are a few who get a bit angry with each other,
GERMANY now very clear on mids FM to my location in South Finland.

There is a 24 hour CB contest starting from today (22 May) at 3pm CEST. There will be a few stations located across mainly the German part of Switzerland, and using the EU CB frequencies (27.965 - 27.405). Calling channel is FM01 27.695. They may also use USB (less likely LSB) with calling on CH16 27.155
If the band opens up today and lands on us it could be interesting!

Thanks for the heads up, will have a listen this afternoon. It's pretty quiet propagation wise where I am just at the moment though.. just little flurries of chatter from Italy.

The skip landing on me yesterday was patchy, rapidly changeable, and many periods of quietness. I didn't hear any of those in contest unfortunately. Ireland and Scotland briefly came through again in the evening (along with the church stations again.. even on ch9 UK FM!) and then swung around to the right sort of direction for the contest, but the closest station I managed a QSO with was 13LR000 who is about 250 miles east of them.
Will have another listen midmorning before I have to get out and cut the grass

Just as others have said, most channels on mid and hi have been a massive pileup of mostly 13 div here today. A few other countries could be heard here and there.
This morning heard my first 91 div since coming back to 11m, didn't make it back to them unfortunately. This afternoon managed a few brief contacts into divisions 1, 13, 14, 47, and 108 including a quick hello on UKFM with 108CT233 Alan - Mirror Man, yay!
13 div still coming through now...

It's a mess here today. So much QRM and noise cannot even hear local stations very clearly. I guess it might be the band 'half-open' where almost nothing is coming in clear but signals are high enough to drown out anything below S5? No idea, but never heard it like that before.
