| In a previous post, I detailed my new base station PMR antenna. I ask family members to monitor a radio for me while I go out and about with mine - not for fun you understand - but purely for testing (range) purposes It's beyond my comprehension... No volunteers I need another solution - so I purchased a parrot It landed today - Stay tuned for my continued adventures.. " /> | |

| yes they use a amo box with a 70amp hour bat, solar a control switch to stop been over charged, a pmr or small cb then the parrot and a external antenna fixed to a steel roof buy mag then I checket with my young bro on his pmr I can hear him and he can hear me so the same from my home 20, from the good spot, but he can not hear me and the same back but remember some silicon bags to stop condensation and you control the repeater and have a time to be on and off | |

Great - let me know how you get on - I haven't had a chance to start yet.. I didn't even think of testing on 11m - I think the connector should also fit my Albrecht 2990 - so another handheld to hand held (Midland 42 multi) in the works

I've checked out some videos on the Ammo Box builds. Looks like a great project. I don't really have the need for one - but might just give it a go for the hell of it.

| I liked the recent idea of a kenwood ts480 crossbanded with yaesu ft857d, the kenwood on 11 and yaesu on pmr, I think it was a DR station that had set it up as a experiment but maybe someone out there could expand a little on the set up? | |
