Well done, Tom. Some great contacts.
Hopefully the conditions will last into the weekend and the weather will play ball. My drive-on mount has arrived, so hopefully I will beable to press my two-element Super Yagi into action.

Got to echo John's message there, flipping well done Tom!
That's a cracking set of contacts and see's me hankering for a beam myself.
John, you'll have to let us know how you get on with your two element affair....I might be able to just about squeeze such a device into a space somewhere.

Well done on all the contacts so far.. It has taken sometime to consider this but as my interest in radio has come and gone over the years making way for other hobbies i have decided it is time to move on once again,so i started taking down my shack today so one half can be dedicated to my hobby of photography and the other for my granddaughter as a play den. Being 33ft in length it has room for both but not for radio, funny i have waited for cycle 25 to come along only to "go down".
It's been a while since I've had the buzz of radio so feel it is time to move on so gentlemen enjoy your radio and i am sure i will pop in from time to time.
Sorry if this should be in another section but i didn't want it to look rude not liking posts so thought I'd explain....catchya later 73

That's a shame to hear Sam but also fully understandable if it's not fulfilling desires. (I had a darkroom, then a woodturning shop, now it's junk storage!)
Don't be a stranger if you can.
I hope you enjoy your photography and that your granddaughter enjoys her new den.
Best 73's.

I had a mixed day. Tried using the yagi, but could not get the swr below 3:1. Dug the Antron out, only to find I have lost the u-clamps. Lol. Non the less I stuck my trusty Sirio 4000 on the roof of the motor and managed to make a few contacts into 2 and 9 div and a few into the West Indies and German operator on his holidays in a Greece.

Another cracking day with the band wide open. I found the missing bits for the Antron and I think I have solved the swr problems with the beam. Unfortunately it was far too windy to put the beam up, so I gave the Antron a whirl.
A few contacts I wrote down: 91AT121 Tom, 2WT101 Jim Cleveland Ohio, 2WR730 Wayne Pittsburgh, 9WR000 Jim and 1KPI115 Luigi. I had nice long QSOs with them, so very enjoyable.
I heard some activity from a 2WR? on 26.285, but too much QRM from OTH radar.

Great to hear that you're all set up Glenn and I hope you've settled well into your new home.
Sounds like your old Sirio and new location is doing great!
Bit quiet on the CB front so far today but have heard calls on the 555 already, let's hope it all picks back up like it did yesterday.

Hi Craig,John,Victor etc thanks for the replies..
I recently bought a new works vehicle and the ft450d looks great sitting up on the dash when in use so ive ordered a new Sirio 4000 and decent magmount and decided to stick around static mobile only. I got a large leisure battery to run the kl400 so i should do ok..
