Always love a free message popping up on those windows but I'm never always quick enough to type one! Plus I had my youngest granddaughter popping in and out fascinated with what I was doing in the shack this morning as well as holding a conversation with a friend on the local 2m repeater. Seems I can 'multi-task'! (Shhh, don't tell my Teresa! )
I'm sure we'll get Mark in our log entries and will be just as much of a thrill to do so.

Nice one Victor, well done! I've just checked my stats and I have no south America contacts on 40m, all 17m and up. Whatever you're doing, keep doing it 'cause you're doing it right!

Cheers Neal mate.
I think sleepless night and getting him at 3:10 UTC helped.

Thank you for pulling signal in this morning Alan, great to finally get you in the log. I think you sent a free message after but didn't catch it as had to shut down quick as we were going out and didn't want to upset my better half. Hope to catch you on the other bands.

Very well done Mike. I managed to work them a week ago on 10m, was a new one for me too. They confirmed on QRZ just a couple of days later, so fingers crossed they do for you. I haven't even heard them on 40m so you're receiving well.

Well done on ten metres.
Not managed to catch on any other bands but nice to get on 40m.
I got 5X3K on the three high bands yesterday.
Those take me to 180 countries across all bands now.

Well done Jimmy on your first 40m contact, very pleased for you.
You're receiving well to pull in HS0. Believe me, you DO stand a chance to have a QSO with them on 10W. Always have a go.

FT4, 10W.
P40AA - Aruba
Very pleased my 40m element of the fan dipole is squirting out a bit of RF at angles other than straight up. I think where we are in the solar cycle is helping a great deal too.

Nice one Neal. Had 4 contacts with that station but they are yet to confirm. All 4 last January in the last week of the month as well. On 10m 12m and 30m.

Just read the QRZ page for them. Very much looks that it is one of those that coin has to pass hands to get a confirmation. Maybe they will update with no coin at a later date, some people do. A good contact but not rare enough in my opinion to pay out to, I have had a 10m one to there with P40P that confirmed without asking to cough up, so I am sure there will be more Aruba stations for us to seek out in future.

It's the only station there in my log Neal. I would never pay like that it's a hobby and if they want to update there log and confirm that is up to them.

Cripes, pay for a computerised log QSO confirmation!?!? (This 'hobby' never ceases to amaze me. )
Well done with the contact there Neal and am sure you'll bag other P4's that won't charge you. (Although might be worth shelling out for a nice Aruba certificate when and if you gain seven contacts there. )
If anyone is feeling over generous they could 'donate' for Neil and myself to run a "DX-pedition" from there as I'm sure we'd enjoy the sunshine.
(We could charge for every QSO Neal and fund it our self! )

I got a lot of dx cards by sending IRCs in the past.
Is it good or bad? Depends on how much you want that card.

I don't have a problem with people asking for some sort of remuneration for actual physical QSL cards there Mike, especially the operators that may have excessive demands made upon them due to their location. (The costs involved could soon add up!)
On the whole radio operators of any kind can be the most generous of individuals in the time they utilise to help others let alone donations of equipment or other such.

The 2euro 'fee' produced a same day LOTW QSL confirmation. Apart from the odd Dxpedtion donation this is the first QSL I have paid for. A lot of dxpedtions will do LOTW confirmations just by confirming the QSO in Clublog. These days I am not worried about collecting physical cards as I have hundreds from the past. If I do receive cards then I will reciprocate.

That is interesting to know. I haven't used Clublog for logging since changing to my current callsign. I might revisit that.
The Aruba dxpedition aside, could be fun spending a bit more time on 40m to see what can be worked DX wise. To date I can count on my fingers and toes the amount of out of Europe QSOs had on the band, but it's definitely possible. Fingers crossed for everyone else here that the solar cycle is kind to you and helps you get some DX QSOs on the band if you are seeking them.

If the DX use Clublog there will normally be an explanation on how to QSL. Some will do free LOTW QSLs just type in your call and make sure your in the log Then normally you fill in the date and time of the QSOs and my be after some while the LOTW will receive confirmations. I did this for the various Russian/African DXeps and got quite a few LOTW confirmations.
