loving this ft8, didnt think i would but like the fact im 10w and getting loads of spots on grid tracker and contacts to follow woohoo got to love this hobby of ours, had a few good ones for me and chuffed as nuts as the saying go`s, not a thing on you guys yet but getting there,,,,,, still need a CT member in the log, i do look every time im on normaly on 40m or 10m at the mo ZS3TG VE30DR PU1AJN R2BBX 4Z5TK

You say "not a thing on you guys yet" Jimmy, but out of those 5 countries you just listed, I only have 1 of them on 40m to date. You're definitely doing something right. Well done.

Well done, I have not worked S.Africa on 40m so your doing very well. I have 78 countries on 40m and have got Australia and New Zealand.
Will keep an eye out for you, give me a call if you hear me.

Surprised to hear a VK phone station at 59+ talking to a station in the US that I could hear at 57. I'm fairly new to 40m so not sure if this is normal for this time of year or not.

There's some big stations that routinely chat during mornings on 40m across those sort of distances Deb.
I often check out the band before sunrise and have been rewarded with confirmed QRP FT8 contacts from the Caribbean to the China seas.
Once that sun starts popping up though the band shuts right down surprisingly fast.
This time of year though with a later dawn for us the band is very busy and on FT4/8 especially there's often no room on the waterfall. Doesn't help with the huge Russian stations cranking +24dB signals obliterating the waterfall.
I may have to give SSB a go one of these days on the band at these times as you just never know.
