Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Yes please! (Hand up waving frantically! )
Normally I'd have one set or other of grandkids round but they're holidaying at the moment so I'd be free.
Here's hoping the Inter-G will be favourable as I had you at 5/9 +20 last time Craig and even Neal (SangueG) at 5/9.....but neither of you heard me. My recent apparently too short doublet has been managing admirably on 40 so would be good to give it another try.
If unsuccessful again......it'll give me the push to get some more wire up in that loft!

Thursday is Radio Club Night at Salop Amateur Radio Society from 8pm, I usually leave home at 7.15pm, so would likely miss it, they do have a wire antenna up and a club shack, but I probably wouldn't be on the air until after 8pm, I'd use GX3SRT in that case, but doubt you'd all still be around an hour or so later.
Would have to check their calendar, if there's a talk/lecture on they don't open the shack

Fingers crossed I'll be home on time, need to pick my better half up from her work at 8pm, but that will give me a good time to try and join in. Just need the conditions to be good as 40m isn't my strongest band for my permanent antenna.

Well, prepping up for it.
Bit long and noisy on 40m through the day but hoping it clears up in time for the net. Maybe my electric lawnmower lead antenna will do me justice.
Good luck to all for the net, here's hoping it's a good'un.
(I've got cheese & onion sandwiches for tea and discovered a can of bitter so will be enjoying myself no matter what! )

Usually a nice bit of Branston Nige but considering the hot weather just a nice juicy chilled white onion, mature cheddar and the whole lot put in the fridge to chill off.
I've even gone as far as chilling the can of bitter!

Barely had you above the noise Craig, (S7 here), but could hear you clear as bell in the Netherlands on the University of Twente SDR! (5/9+!) I could hear you in conversation with a G station.
Tried the local webSDR just in case it's down to my "rubbish" setup ( ) but same story with them and their full size G5RV with also S7 of noise.
Heard Gary shouting out but again via the Netherlands. (Nice to hear your voice though mate. )
There were UK stations on 7.129 and then Italians on 7.130 afterwards so overall not a great situation!
Such is the fickle cow that is Mother Nature and Radio.
Never mind, was worth a go and sure we'll manage another time.

I'll echo Alan's sentiments with also a thanks to all for trying.

Hi Alan,
I thought I could here a call back but right down in the noise, I have fairly high noise levels on 40m today so not particularly helpful conditions.
I am definitely up for making this a weekly event if everyone else is willing to give it a go.
73's Gary.

Heard you Craig 57 until you went answer the door, but then turned into Italians. I tried a couple of times just before that QSO but failed. Just got GB70M and a a /70 station in the log, so some inter G paths on 40m are working.

Well done to all for giving it a try and thanks again Craig for bringing forward the opportunity.
I'm with Gary on his suggestion of a weekly go for a Net, (bound to hit the right conditions!), but for me Thursdays and Fridays are grandchildren visiting days usually....I love me radio and dare I say I love you all too, but not quite as much as me grandkids.

I called straight after you Gary but no reply so i must be in the noise level. You came in around a 3/4 but would have been good enough for a chat. Not got the best garden for a good antenna here so i compromised kit lol. We will definitely have to try again soon. Regards to all. Alan MW7TTA.
