Hi guys personal is john. Old handle was nurvous wreck when I used to be a driving instructor with BSM if anybody remembers me. I am now 74 this year and it was a very long time ago I last used a CB rig. I used to live in Garston Watford very close to where stag man, ice diamond, street legal and sawdust man had their homebase set ups around the time FM became legal in the UK, if that rings any bells with anybody. I am now living in an upstairs flat in Bushey Hertfordshire with very strict antenna restrictions. I have a mfj 1625, window/balcony antenna that should cover 80 to 6 meters, so should be able to work 11m with it, it will mean adjusting the coil tappings on it every time I change frequencies and probably using an ATU I have as well. It will mean setting it up by pointing it out the window at a 45 degree angle and clamping it to the window ledge every time I want to use the president grant 2 I have. All a compromise but with the antenna restrictions I have to live with I do not have much choice. Far too much mental in the construction of the building I live in making it a Faraday cage, so indoor antenna are not an option. When it comes to outside antennas on the building I was refused permission from the housing association and told to give up any radio hobbies. If I can get this working with these restrictions all this will be an experiment to see if I can Rx and Tx from this location. If I can get it working hope to have a QSO with some of you in the neer future as well as working some DX. Can somebody please allocate a CT call sign. Thanks guys 73.
