Hello Everyone .
I took out the Madison for a field test on Southern & South coast Net . On FM she worked fine but on SSB MMM was a little squeaky LOL so a bit of adjustment needed . She only puts out about 5 watts so a little RL KM 60 to give her a helping hand. So here's a picture in the car with a borrowed desk top mic from Mr Ray (CI2290) Cheers Ray.
Enjoy and hope to catch you on air sometime soon

Hi John,
Good to see the Madison not only on-air, but getting some fresh air too!
Mobile setup looks good and bet that's just the ticket for a long DX session or great chat on a net. As Derek mentions it would be good (and even inspirational to others) to provide a few more details such as power options, antenna setup etc. You know what we're all like, can't get enough radio, enjoy seeing what others are up to and maybe even gain an idea or two for ourselves.
Thanks for posting about your awesome mobile setup.
All the best, Victor

Hi John
That looks good in the car and it is something different to the Anytone/CRT/KPO/HF radio's used by most.
BUT
Are you sure that is my base mic as it looks way to shiny and new.
Keep up the good work 'Mr Madison'

Hi Everyone
Just an update as requested , the following pics are of the power used etc. Two leisure batteries linked feeding the watt meter and then out the back with connecter etc. to power poles , I will be swapping the choc block for something more suitable at a later date when I settle on final build.
I then sent power to Madison with the power pole. Antenna was a 2TL2 on fibreglass pole .
Mr Ray that is your mic I just stuck it in the washing machine and hey presto nice and clean LOL

Great pictures and info there John so thanks for posting.
How are you getting on with the Leisure batteries, do they last the course of a DX/Net stint?
I played with small motorcycle batteries a while back but ruined them quickly by discharging them too much and knew that the smaller SLA's are great for emergency lighting, alarms, etc. but not much cop for radio antics. Now I've resurrected some deep cycle mobility scooter batteries to have a play with and see how they fare. Pedestrian mobile (or nowadays mobility scooter plans!) do need something a little 'lighter'. (Someone's bound to mention 'litho-poly-whatshisface' batteries and exude their qualities. )
Great stuff and thanks again.
(Oh, and a quick thanks to Mr. Ray for his usual radio positivity and generous help to others.)

Hi Mr Victor
The batteries have lasted for about 6 evenings + for Ray's nets and a little DXing before feel they need to be topped up but you could get more out them. ones a 95amp AGM and one a 110amp standard Leisure . Hope this helps
regards John
