hey all the bands here in norfolk at the mo are dead, tryed every one at least 3 times, am ,fm,usb,lsb, from 26 -29 mhz nor a thing apart from two locals on chanel 19 fm that i talk to, even the 2m band dead, that bad i went and looked out side to see if my ariels were still up, all swr ok arhhh got to love radio when its dead and station manager at work just my luck lol..... need that Ft991a at leat id have the wires x (c4fm)lol......well need my pi-star aswell.......

As John said, Jimmy, the sunspot cycle is heading towards the peak and conditions have been phenomenal on 26 - 29MHz recently with MUFs staying above 30MHz for a long periods.
If you're just talking about yesterday being dead, then I did notice last night many bands being a bit blah and reading up this morning the sun did chuck some bad stuff at us yesterday which looks to be the reason, and could cause some more radio quietness over next few days.
Hopefully you will get some good contacts once the sun behaves again. If you find quietness goes on too long, a suggestion for you... try Echolink. If you are not aware what that is, it's its software which lets ham licence holders use computers mic and speakers to talk on Echolink enabled repeaters around the world. E.g. you could login to a repeater in VK and talk to anyone in range of that repeater.
