Antenna suggestions

Can anyone suggest a nice CB antenna other than the Antron 99 please, ive got one here to be returned as the metal threaded part is not bonded to the fibre glass rod, seems rubbish to me, I was thinking of this one, any thoughts...... Sigma 2010 Skip Master

Hi Paul,

I did a lot of searching before i bought my current Sirio 2016, the guys on here suggested a few and I looked at them all.
as many of the guys have said, normally the bigger the antenna and the higher you can mount it the better.

I guess a lot of it my case came down to price, where I could mount it and if I would P!ss of the neighbours in some way.

The two I decided on were;

Sirio 2016, due to it's easy tuning, height and smaller ground planes, easy assembly and flexibility due to wind. I picked it up for approx £125 from Knights.

The President Himalaya was my alternative, unfortunately I could not find anyone with stock when I was buying. It is pricey though at £168.

One thing I would suggest is that you buy good quality coax as this makes a huge difference when you have a run of cable to the antenna, suggest RG-213 if you haven't done so already.

Hope these are some food for thought.
