Would love to get a old home base rig, back in the day i had Harrier and the York base stations, the York was with me until 2002, lost it in a house move, crunched well beyond repair, they sell in my area for 200€ to 300€ way to much, have to sit tight and see if i can one day get to visit family in the Uk and buy one , and hide it in the case from the wife.

hi red fox, thankfully no the light's dont dim, but i can run 2x ssb/1x 300 watt kicker,/2 fm rig's at same time, the most amps it draws is 38amp's, it is heavy duty, so it can handle a lot,
hi, nubster i was pretty surprised by how nice it is, and no mod's,
Hi glenn dog, there is plenty of homebase rig's going some better then other's in condition,
it took over 20 year's to get this rig, and i suppose well worth the wait for it,

I use to be like that Glenn lots of radios ,then ya realised I can use one at a time and the others are gathering dust LOL so I've stuck to owning two radios and even with that I normally only use one out of two regular, but your getting a nice collection going

Thank you everyone, i did buy a new handheld the alba cb h2, the person i bought it of, said the rubber duck that slides over the telescopic was permanent, (obviously didnt know me lol ) soon after getting the rig, and the lies on ebay that thats all that was to inform you of, i quickly found that the case was superglued together major downer right there, but again obviously didnt know me heheh,
i managed to get the case open very carefully and did not damage the case, i then set about getting that stuppid stud of the telescopic aerial, once i got the aerial and rubber duck and stud of the telescopic, i looked at the aerial and apart from a few scratches where i tried to get the fixed items on it off, i extended the aerial to find it was a minter, perfect except the scratches,
i then set about making sure (while the back was off) visual look only that none of the cam's/carbon's was damaged, just in case mister screwdriver lets fix a rubber duck permanently to telescopic, had messed with it, found they was ok and no damage,
so now on to the best bit, i am in a bad area for getting out, so i got hold of a friend who lives about 1/2 a mile away to go on 14, as thats what we use as 19 is full of gobby mouthed cant hold a convo with out swearing idiot's,
he was going in to town which is about 1 mile and 1/2, and he got me all the way while i sat on the couch, i was well chuffed, it did better then my midland 42 handheld's, so i have now ordered the power lead to put it on 12 volts from my euro 50amp, and a so239 female to 3.mm mono plug to fit in the extended aerial socket, and if the handheld is doing about 2 watt's to 3 watt's ill be happy,
( And so end's the story of the alba cb h2 journey from a nutty i know it all idiot, to a very good and wise hermit in the outback's of the uk, lol

Some fantastic kit there, I especially like the Uniden 300, I think it's one of the best looking Home Base's.
I have to admit I have a soft spot for old or "Classic" CB's from the early days too, not just because they were designed to look good, but because of the fun we all had at the time when this technology was released.
You have a great collection there, but that Uniden 300 is a real corker..

Nice one Glenn , I haven't seen radios like that for quite a while, they look in good condition too, I'm more in to my old school radios (pre legal) stuff but nice to see old time legal ones.

Hi Nubster thank you, i know i cant use all the rig's at once, it just makes me feel good to have them,
i did buy a couple of cool echo chamber's for my rig's, the ES-880 and the EC-990 with 2x roger bleep's,
i had fun with a friend making him think i was someone else, until he realised it was me and the game was up,
lately we have been having a lot of electric interference up our way, so convo's have been difficult at time's,
i also bought some bit's to connect different rig's to my aerial, phono-so239,
there is on tool i cannot work out its name or where to buy it, so ill draw it and see if anyone knows where to find it,
:::[[[[[[[[---- the tool is plastic in the middle it has a copper looking rod that run's right through, one end is fat and the other end is thin, its for tuning cam's inside rig's, for the very small carbon's
