All the times I have been able to listen to the radio over this weekend have not coincided with the highest recorded MUF times, and so have probably missed some good stuff. Saturday I had a brief one with UE60ANT before the UK/IE contest started and had one other with RL4A toward the later part of the contest today. Both of those are in my usual single hop E skip distances so it might of been a factor in some people managing DX from the UK.
Thanks for the reminder about CQWW. My better half is doing 2x 12hr shifts so will be out of the house a lot, and I'm not on-call for work. So with some time to myself, fingers crossed for some good conditions on 10m.

23/10/2021 Not so much about contacts made as I couldn't DX my way out of a paper bag on this Saturday morning having failed on both Kazakhstan and Indonesia but on 10m SSB Hong Kong,Philippines, Australia,Kyrgystan and Uzbekistan were all known to have been worked from the UK . How much sporadic E played in the opening which also had many strong Russian stations who knows but the Ionograms did show blanket E coverage so maybe a first hop out was by E's ? Propagation on the up as we all know and dont forget its CQWW next weekend.
Sunday 24th. 10m FT8 the signals were not that strong here, to busy to work anything but left the rig ticking over. Heard VK6 but -20db and a couple of Indonesians at -3db but the bulk was out to about as far as Kazakhstan.

SangueG , the UE60 one at least must be pretty much close to the max limit for a single E hop @ 2352km for zero degrees take off (average E layer height ) so could have been two hops ? but as they are ITL thats what counts. 10m SSB is open to North and South America atm.

Looks like I've missed good conditions again. I've just got in from work, switched on, and 9Z4FE is just fading into the noise. I did try quickly, but no luck. No other stations from the Americas to be heard my way now on 10

PJ7P was strong on 28.402,5 this afternoon and at the time was calling for German stations only yet as per normal pizz poor op's wouldn't wait their turn and I could hear a PY and even a G7 calling away despite the clear intruction from the DX he was only calling for German stations at the time , one EA7 got both barrels and put on the black list before the DX had had enough and QSY'd to 12m. Another one missed (XT was the other ) because of poor operators , cant blame the PJ7 only suprised he didn't name and shame more. Kurt 9Z4FE was 59 here and ITL.

28/10/21 Got back home , switched radio on tuned to 28.325 and worked 7Q6M (Malawi) all within 5mins of walking through the back door ! # Crazy luck.
.............5mins of walking through the back door, damn that must of hurt !!!
Nice job on the 7Q6, after days of trying to get the Russian Dx-Exped 7P8RU on ten i finally stumbled across them on 12m and got into the log !!! Best thing no doors were harmed in making this qso !

Yes Neal 9Z4FE Kurt was strong on 10m this evening for over an hour
9Z4FE - Trinidad and Tobago 5/7 on 28.435
Also SWL a few Brazilian stations around the same time but to low to work on 50w
Craig
Craig, had the same thing in the week, working in my garage listening to 9J2BO for nearly 2 hours working UK stations one after another and heard him work a few Cypriot Ex-pats including my ex military pal Noz, i only called once and did not get in the UK stations had a better path than me (going over the top of my house !!!)
The African continent is very active for me in the late afternoon, i can work and hear them all afternoon on 28 but nothing from the UK now the sporadic E season has died down..

Good stuff , wait till CQWW in October it will blow your mind if theres any sort of prop.
There was.. and it did!!
It's really shown me what just 10W into a bit of wire in the loft can do. Amongst the usual European countries I reach on 10m, have had a few contacts to countries in the middle east that I haven't managed to date and also some into south and central America, plus ones into north America and Canada. So happy that I am not even fussed about some rarer ones that got away or about the local G stations that I have never heard till now fire up their power and walk all over me.
Really enjoyed it today. I won't have as much time for it for the rest of today or tomorrow unfortunately. But hope others have had some good contacts and get some great ones if 10m is good again tomorrow.

If I was you I would definitely class that as having a great time!! I've never heard Australia on 10m to date, let alone worked them, or some of the others you've pulled in with your great antenna.
For some of the others you worked I think I followed in your steps. Blue worked, Red failed, Black never heard.. except for Bulgaria which I didn't try for as worked on 15m. A few others which I worked that may be on tomorrow again were Kaliningrad, Curacao and Brazil (yep finally worked them, it's taken me long enough).
Thank you for the heads-up on the ARRL 10m contest. Made a note on the calendar.

I didn't hear any of the far East stuff today but overall I think conditions were better today than yesterday in the Contest on 10m, I did get the Isle of Man by backscatter , nothing at all from him beaming direct but the sweet spot was somewhere pointing at Austria , also Greenland which wasn't hard as he was S9 here today. Others added to the yearly pot were Kosovo , Lesoteo , Kenya , PY0F , Belize and Antigua .

As noted yesterday, didn't have as much time to play today. For me it was mostly contacts into Russia in the morning and north America (furthest state was Texas) in the afternoon. A few repeat of countries managed yesterday inc Madeira, Cyprus, and Oman (Masirah Isl this time). One new one for me was V26B Antigua. Pretty happy with those.
Failed on many, partly I think because I didn't have the time to persevere. List is long, but most notable ones (which are my first time hearing too) were VK2OZ Australia and 9K2NO Kuwait just before 09:00, FR4KR Reunion, 7Q6M Malawi, ZF5T Cayman, and FG5GP Guadeloupe. At least I know I am receiving ok.
Thanks Ady for the link. Have been there a few times before, but have book marked it now.

I worked some stations on 10 today. My favourite band when it's open. Heard the USA but couldn't make the contact. 73's Gary.

Remember driving past the V26B contest station just after it was virtually destroyed by fire, you can see it from miles away, towers left right and center, very impressive and in a excellent location. In the contest i stumbled across the ZF5T station and got him in my log (i say log, the reality was the contact details being scribbled down on a piece of paper until i can fit a new hard drive in my PC which decided to commit suicide)
The only Cypriot station i worked this weekend was P33W (mostly Russian and eastern european operators) The last detachment before i left the RAF was to Cyprus, we had a flat in Limassol and the hotel across the road had a huge swimming pool which they let us use each day, along as we bought our beer from their bar !! Happy Days..........
As for the link, your most welcome mate........
