Nice one Ray . I refitted my Magmount today and my PMR radio . I got a good signal report from 18 miles away .
I'll put my CB back in next and listen out for you's I've looked at possible sites that might get out your way and thought about a pole with a dipole mounted.
It would be a real buzz to make the trip .
Annoyingly . My posting woes have reappeared on my new phone now.
I blame your thread lol
. Good to hear you haven't lost the PMR bug. Most seem to give up because they compare it with CB and don't get the same results.
It would be a pleasure to make contact with you one Thursday night, but if you don't hear us, look up the AMC Thursday net on Faceache and if you do make contact with Neil in Wales or any of the other guys, say Ray from the Southern net sent you.
I tried using a smart phone to post on CT, but gave up as the touch screen would think I had pressed something that I hadn't (or it was big sausage fingers )
Happy to take the blame if my musing about the SSB or PMR net keep you entertained.
Cheers Nige

The net can be found on Channel 39 Lowerside Band on the mid-block (the FCC band) or 27.395 MHz LSB and is scheduled to start at 20:00 UTC, 8 o'clock in the PM or 5 o'clock AM on Friday, if your in Japan.
Now you know the when, where and the how, is the my list of stations that called in and were heard and or worked by the net. All stations are 26 division unless otherwise stated.

Hello all
Welcome to my report for the SA & SC SSB net held on Thursday 09-02-2023. The net can be found on channel 39 LSB on the FCC or mid-block or 27.395Mhz LSB, the net is scheduled to start at 8 o'clock GMT or 20:00 Hrs UTC.
My location for the night was the top of Titsey Hill in the county of Surrey and the set up was the Solarcon A99 and the Anytone AT-6666 with no amp and no power mic.
The weather was cold and clear.
Before the list of stations that called in and were heard and or worked by the net, here is 20 second video of the interference I had to suffer all night.
DDB 29--Paul--Cranleigh--Surrey CT 5588--Chris--On the bridge--Welly Garden Centre--Hertfordshire MR 121--Matt--Copthorne--West Sussex CT 11111--John--Tunbridge Wells--Kent HT 69--Mike--Portland--Dorset AH 09--Tim--Berkshire Downs--Berkshire DT 321--Simon--Portland--Dorset CT 4013--Tony--Brighton--East Sussex CT 4029--Tom--Blackheath--Southeast London CT 4186--Dan--Thurrock--Essex NB 101--Dave--Edenbridge--Kent CT 4362--Chris--Reigate Town--Surrey and me CI 2290--Ray--Titsey Hill--Surrey--Never going there again!
Thank you all who called in and stuck with us and sorry if you tried and found the channel empty. We called it a night at 10.30 as it was become more frustrating to make any kind of contacts or be able to pass people around.
That rounds up this short and slightly disappointing report.
Until next

Hello all
Here is my report for the SA & SC SSB Net held on Thursday 16-02-2023.
After the noise fail from the previous week, I was back up on Radio Corner, Ashdown Forest in the county of East Sussex.
So braving the cold & fog, I set up the antenna with the top disappearing into the pea soup and connected it to the Anytone AT-6666.
The net, for those who may not know, can be found on channel 39 mid-block, channel 39 of the American CB allocation or 27.395 MHz using the LSB mode and starts at 20.00 Hrs or 8 o'clock GMT.
With back ground noise from the US, here is the list of stations heard and or worked by the net. All stations are 26 division unless stated otherwise.
CT 4029--Tom--Blackheath--Southeast London (you had to be there to get this )
EK 720--Nigel--devils Dyke--West Sussex GT 67--Danny--Mobile doing the Aldi supermarket sweep FI 420--Dick--Near Cambridge--Cambridgeshire AH 09--Tim--Berkshire Downs--Berkshire CT 4515--john--Ditchling Beacon--East Sussex DDB 29--Paul--Cranleigh--Surrey CT 1829--Dean--Edenbridge--Kent GT 67--Danny--Crawley--West Sussex LT 727--Dave--Elstree--Hertfordshire HT 69--Mike--Portland--Dorset LR 966--Mark--Kings Lynn--Norfolk TE 310--Kevin--Leigh on Sea--Essex CT 4362--Chris--Reigate Town--Surrey LT 01--Jake--Highgate--North London--Good to hear you on the radio J C--Guildford--Surrey CT 3466--Ray C5--Crowhurst--Surrey and me CI 2290--Ray--Ashdown Forest--East Sussex
Thank you all who called in and sorry if you tried and wasn't heard. Please try again next week, coz you never know. . . .
Even with only 17 station on, the net covered 10 counties and London, and the distance between the furthest stations being approximately 195ish miles. I think someone on the night said quality over quantity, I can't argue with that.
That rounds up the report, so until next time

Sorry Tom, shouldn't laugh at someone else's misfortune but that's just too funny. (I wouldn't eat a Greggs anything 'fresh-n-hot' let alone cold and lardy. Yuck!)
You'll have to prep-up next time with some sarnies.

Hello
Welcome to my report of the SA & SC SSB net held on 9th of March 2023
My location for the night was a dark, foggy rainy Radio Corner, Ashdown Forest in the county of East Sussex and the set up was the Anytone AT-6666 (not sure what version) pushing all of 40 watts on the whistle through a Solarcon A99 up about 3 meters.
The net is scheduled to start at 20:00 hrs UK/GMT, 20:00 UTC, 8 o'clock or 16:00 hrs/4 o'clock Washington DC time and can be found on channel 39 LSB FCC or 27.395 MHz LSB.
So with the sound of the US and his brother coming in at signal 5-7 and a radio 5+ on the audio, here is the list of stations that called in and were heard and or worked by the net.

Hello
Welcome to my report for the Southern Area & South Coast Net. The net was held on the 16-03-2023 and can be found by tuning around the 11m band until you get to 27.395 MHz Lower Side Band or just turning to channel 39 mid-block using mode LSB.
The net is scheduled to start at 20:00 hrs GMT, but does sometimes start late due to my shift pattern.
My set was the Anytone AT-6666 and the Solarcon A99 from my location of Ashdown Forest in the county of East Sussex
The weather was cloudy, breezy with moisture in the air making everything wet by the end of the night.
So with the band as quiet as a church mouse , lets get on with the list of stations that called in and were heard and or worked by the net.

Welcome
Here is my report for the Southern Area & South Coast Net or the Original Thursday Night Net that was held on Thursday 23-03-2023
The net, for those who have just found this report or don't know, is held on channel 39 mid-block (CEPT) LSB or if you have a VFO 27.395 MHz LSB.
My location for the night was a wet, windy & rainy ️ Radio Corner, Ashdown Forest in the county of East Sussex and the set up was a barefoot Anytone AT-6666 and Solarcon A99 1 1/2 meters above the ground.
The conditions on air were, to say the least, very strange. Most stations reported low signal readings but higher audio levels!!
Here is the list of crazy portable/mobile and homebase stations that called in and where heard and or worked by the net.

Thank you all who called in, special thank you to the mobile stations braving the windy conditions and sorry if you tried and wasn't heard, I know some did try.
That rounds up this report, catch you next time

Nice one Ray, I haven't been able to listen out for weeks due to one thing or another. But hopefully this Thursday I will. And if I can I'm hoping to get up a mountain ️
Great to read you and the others keeping these nets going though.
