I know I am running the threads this year, but need input from the rest of you taking part as if United Nations is allowed for this challenge or not. It has its own DXCC label on QRZ, but I don't think it is classed as a separate on ARRL.
Either way, 4U1A is on 28.492 currently if you want to try for it.

I was just going to ask the same thing, has its own dxcc on dxsummit as well, good enough for me but will go with the flow, on 480 now btw and +20

Very strong to here now too, much louder then when I got them earlier. To appease everyone who's in the challenge, shall we say we'll leave it open to any opposers until tomorrow evening, then if none we'll class as an entity an log here?
BTW, 4U1A shows as United Nations on QRZ with appropriate when you click on their page, but as Austria in logs. You can edit to show as United Nations in the Reciever Info tab of your log entry.

As far as I remember & (God forbid ) unless something has changed in the last 27 years only 4U1ITU in Geneva & 4U1UN in New York count as separate entities…

Well done on getting a couple of points today Mike.
It's looking like both yourself and John are right. The 4U1A QRZ page have themselves listed as entity United Nations (as below). But if you click the DXCC Status link on their page and read all the way through, they believe they should be included in the DXCC entity, but have continuously been denied.
Contentious, but although how its listed on some sites, it looks like it will be a 'no' for this challenge

I can never work out how the DXCC criteria works, how is EA9 & EA6 a separate entity but the “African Italian islands” aren’t? Same with Rockall being classed as the Western Isles of Scotland, crazy!!

LY1933DG is booming through here Craig and about the only signal I'm picking up on 10m at the moment.
Can't raise a signal to him though.
(Methinks Intermediate might be on the cards! )

Nice one John , worked them and a good few others from Scandinavia last night , sadly no points but was a really nice opening to that part of the world , sounded like they were all in some sort of contest ?

They weren’t very loud down here so I was pleasantly surprised to make the trip. Yes it was some sort of Scandinavian based contest where they were looking for six figure locator squares. That seems a unusual contest format for 10 Metres, but I was happy to oblige for two more points!
